Our Privacy Policy explains:
Privacy Policy Revised 09/06/2018
- What information we collect and why we collect it.
- How we use that information.
- The choices we offer, including how to access and update information.
Your privacy matters to Freedom Appraise (FA) so whether you are new to FA or a long-time user, please do take the time to get to know our practices – and if you have any questions contact us.
Information we collect
We collect information to provide better services to all of our users. We collect information in the following ways:
Information you give us
For example, many of our services require you to sign up for a FA Account. When you do, we’ll ask for personal information, like your name, email address, license number and telephone number to store with your account.
Information we get from your use of our services
We collect information about the services that you use and how you use them. This information includes:
- Device Information
- Log information
- Location information
- Unique application numbers
- Local storage
- Cookies and similar technologies
We collect device-specific information (such as your hardware model, operating system version, unique device information, and mobile network information including phone number). FA may associate your device identifiers or phone number with your FA Account.
When you use our services or view content provided by FA, we automatically collect and store certain information in server logs. This includes:
- Details of how you used our service, such as your search queries.
- Telephony log information like your phone number, time and date of use.
- Internet Protocol Address.
- Device event information such as crashes, system activity, hardware settings, browser type, browser language, the date and time of your request and referral URL.
- Cookies that may uniquely identify your FA Account.
When you use FA services, we may collect and process information about your actual location using IP address, GPS, and other sensors that provide FA with data on nearby devices, Wi-Fi access points, and cell towers.
Certain services include a unique application number. This number and information about your installation (for example, the operating system type and application version number) may be sent to FA when you install or uninstall that service or when that service periodically contacts our servers for updates.
We may collect and store information locally on your device using browser storage (including HTML5) and application caching services. We may also use cookies or similar technologies to identify your browser or device.
Information we collect when you are signed in to FA may be associated with your FA Account. When information is associated with your FA Account, we treat it as personal information. For more details, see the Transparency and choice section.
How we use information we collect
We use the information we collect from all of our services to provide, maintain, protect, and improve them, to develop new ones, and to protect FA and our users.
We may use the name you provide for your FA Profile across all FA services. When you contact FA, we keep a record of your communication to help solve any issues. We may use your email to inform you about our services or upcoming changes.
We may combine personal information from one service with information from other FA services. We will ask for your consent before using information for a purpose other than those set out in this Privacy Policy.
Transparency and choice
Our goal is to be clear about what information we collect, so you can make meaningful choices. For example, you can:
- Review and update your FA activity controls linked to your account.
- Set your browser to block all cookies or notify you when a cookie is being set. Note: many services may not function properly if cookies are disabled.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All other use cases exclude text messaging opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
Accessing and updating your personal information
We aim to give you access to your personal information and tools to update or delete it unless retention is required for legitimate business or legal reasons. Verification may be required before we act on your request.
We may reject requests that are unreasonably repetitive, require disproportionate technical effort, risk others’ privacy, or are impractical. Where possible, we provide information access and correction for free. Deleted data may remain temporarily on backups.
Information we share
We do not share personal information with companies, organizations, or individuals outside of FA except as described below:
For legal reasons
We will share personal information if we have a good-faith belief that it is necessary to:
- Meet any applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
- Enforce Terms of Service, including investigating potential violations.
- Detect, prevent, or address fraud, security, or technical issues.
- Protect against harm to FA, our users, or the public as required by law.
If FA is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, we will ensure confidentiality and notify users before information is transferred or becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
Information security
We work hard to protect FA and our users from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. In particular:
- We encrypt many of our services using SSL.
- We review our information collection, storage, and processing practices, including physical security measures.
- We restrict access to personal information to FA employees, contractors, and agents bound by strict confidentiality obligations.
When this Privacy Policy applies
Our Privacy Policy applies to all FA services except those with separate privacy policies that do not incorporate this one.
Compliance and cooperation with regulatory authorities
We regularly review compliance with our Privacy Policy. When we receive complaints, we follow up and work with appropriate authorities to resolve them.
Changes
Our Privacy Policy may change from time to time. We will not reduce your rights under this policy without explicit consent. Updates will be posted here, and significant changes will include more prominent notice. Prior versions will be archived for review.
